Kids These Days Be careful What They Search On The Internet, As Windows 10 Allows Parents To See What They Get Up To..
The days when people had privacy on the internet are gone judged by Windows 10.
The operating system now monitors people’s use on the internet, sending reports to parents containing details of exactly what their kids have been getting up to.
While most parents would probably agree that is a good thing, the fact is it also logs exactly how long children spend on the internet, along with what websites they visit, and how long for, has been seen as a massive breach of privacy.
It will automatically send parents an update each week, on what their kids have been doing online, along with their favorite apps, and it’s safe to say, it does not sit well with some people.
It seems that the ‘big brother’ aspect of the feature has not gone down well at all.
One reader, known as Kirk, claimed:
This weekend we upgraded my 14 years old son’s laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 10.
Today I got a creepy email from Microsoft titled ‘Weekly activity report for (my kid)’ including which websites he has visited, how many hours per day he used it, and how many minutes he used each of his favorite apps.
OK, I admit that the timing might be coincidental but that would be one hell of a coincidence. I’ve never seen anything like this until we upgraded to Windows 10, and then I got the spy report the following business day.
